Creators

To Lauren, thank you for being you.

In their beginning, we made heaven and earth, nowhere near our first inception, and far from our most impressive.  For all of time you and I have been the most amazing creations.  Everything about you and I is beautiful.  Draped in scales that shimmer in nameless colors, our bodies resemble giant pterodactyls.  With a single flap of our magnificent wings, entire worlds could be created.

On the day we created their universe, we were flying through the stars, playing tag with each other like kittens pouncing after crickets.  We communicated in silence.  What I knew you knew, what I felt you felt.  We knew it was time.  Our favorite time.  Time to make something new. I marveled at the long talons attached to your legs as you flew past me.  I have them too, but I enjoy enjoying everything that is you.  I reached out to admire you with a touch.  You kicked my hand before it got to you.  Startled, I giggled, pulled my hand back, and gave my wings a powerful flap that pushed me just close enough to smack your butt. My giggles grew to chesty laughter as I watched your scaly bare butt cheeks bounce against each other.

Knowing that swift retaliation was coming for my jovial smack, I sped up my flight from you.  Feeling you on my heels, I turned to see how close you were.  Little did I know, you created a giant rock and launched it at my head at the exact moment that I turned to look at you.  The rock hit me right in the face, throwing me out of my flight path, as it split in two.  That is how you created the Earth, and I created the moon.  I guess, technically, you played a significant role in the creation of both, you ALways give me credit for the moon because you see how much I love her and you know how much I love to help.

“That’s what happens when you touch my ass!” I felt your sentiment.  Through swollen eyes, I glanced in your direction.  You were dancing, bouncing, and jiggling as you cried in laughter at my pain.  I started to laugh too.  It is funny when friends get hurt.

“Look!” my eyes said, watching the water from your tears pour onto the new Earth. You grabbed my hand as we flew down to the earth to watch your tears land from the ground.  We shrunk our sizes as we landed to better explore the larger of the two rocks created from our playing.  Our talons dug into the ground as our wings folded in.  Ready to walk in this new place, I looked up and saw your tears from below.  They landed on my face, making it look like I was crying too.  I opened my long beak and tilted my head back.  New joy filled my body as your water landed on my tongue.   Suddenly, I felt a burning sensation on my ass accompanied with the loudest SMACK new Earth had ever heard.  I flew forward from your assault. Digging a huge crater in the earth under my back.  The water from your tears began to pool into the crater.  I crawled out slowly, looking around for the source of the next attack.

I didn’t see you.  I looked back.  The crater was now full of water. I gripped the Earth with my talons and we spoke through the ground.  “Hey you, welcome to being.” I greeted baby Earth.

“Hello, what am I…where am I…what is this…did you make me?” the Earth started asking questions like they all do.

“We are just here my baby, well, I am here.  My friend…and I totally made you, I am looking for her now, do you know she is?” I asked, talons still gripping the earth.

“I don’t even know who I am.” the Earth replied.

“Good point,” I thought. “Keep a look out my baby. Shoot some light into the sky when you see her.” I asked our little Earth before releasing her from my talons and taking off in flight. As I flew higher, I began to see long green covered brown poles protruding from the ground.

“What is this creator doing!? And where is she?” I asked myself as I marveled at the lush forests that she inevitably made to make the search for her even more fun and beautiful. “What a goddess!” I thought, enjoying the scents, sights, and sounds of her forest.

I took my talons back down to the earth. I loved enjoying touch. When I touched her we talked. So I walked. I began adding to my love’s beautiful creation by injecting more and more beings to live and enjoy experiencing all of the secrets she hid on the Earth. This one to see magnificent things, that one to smell them, those over there to hear music in everything, and these right here to taste miracles.

Walking the forest and filling it with life led me to a desert. To which I did the same. Walking. Creating. Experiencing. And searching. For my partner in inception. Where in the world could she have gone? She wasn’t in the desert, so I swam through her tear filled ocean, filling it with worlds she would love exploring when we reunited. She wasn’t in the ocean, so I climbed the mountain. She wasn’t on the mountain, so I decided to search the moon.

Preparing for flight, I flung my long arms out, expecting my magnificent wings to unfold. Nothing was attached from my arms to my body. No more wings! “What is happening my baby!?” I asked the Earth. No response. I looked down. My giant talons, which had dug into our creation forming the bond allowing us the ability to communicate with the same ease as you and I, were gone! My talons lost their nails and became feet with the time spent walking on Earth. No longer could I communicate with our Earth. No longer could I fly to the moon. No longer could I leave the Earth without you. I became the first human.

“What will I do if I can’t create new worlds outside of Earth? What will I do if I can’t find my love!?” I thought, realizing that she wasn’t here and I couldn’t leave. Unable to talk with the Earth and the only one here like me, I thought about creating another you. One of a kind, I could never duplicate pure power. I held my belly as a sharp pain pulled my attention from the fear of never seeing you again.

I keeled over as the pain grew unbearable. It started to fall from my belly. Lower. Lower. Suddenly, the earth quaked. “HAHAHA!!!” Laughter resonated from the mountains. It swept through the deserts, tickled the oceans, and shook the forests. I screamed as you laughed. Feeling the most pain that I have ever known, I squatted. Your laughter grew, as did my screams.

Finally, you fell from my vagina, pulling out all of the pain and fear condemned in my solitude. You reached up and punched me in my bleeding womb. Millions of tiny humans fell from me. Relief filled my soul. You were here. And just as rude as I remembered. Hiding inside of me the entire time.

“See what you can do when I’m not here?” You said through the earth.  I looked down. My talons had grown back. “What are you talking about?” I asked, elated to have our ability to speak in feelings back, “you were with me the whole time!”

Sensing my desire to retaliate for your long, cruel, painful joke, you opened up your beautiful wings, instantly grew to your usual massive size, and took off before I could attack. I threw my arms up, my wings were back! Grateful for the ability to leave humanity on Earth, I flew with you into the stars, never to return to the talking rock again.
